I don’t know about you guys, but I’m pretty sure that my parents having sex created my childhood. And Walt Disney was racist (particularly anti-semitic), sexist, and anti-union, among other things. Basically, in a lot of ways, he was a total dickhead.
I mean, yeah, good movies, but idolizing Walt Disney is kinda… Not something I’m gonna do.

I keep seeing people say things like… “must” and “should”, and while it’s great that their worldviews are defined and shit, it just… doesn’t compute. I was reading a thing someone wrote about A Song of Ice and Fire, and they said something along the lines of “Of course you’re justified in liking whatever character you want, but you can’t just brush aside their bad traits. You must admit their faults when you claim to like them.”
And, excuse me, but actually I don’t have to do that. If I want to forget that Tyrion Lannister is a misogynistic douche as well as a fascinating and clever person, then dammit I very well can. It’s not a particularly intellectual, interesting, or mature way to interpret his character, but I am well within my rights to do so, partially because it’s LITERATURE and there is no “correct” when it comes to something that is inherently altered by perspective, but also because you can’t really codify a proper method of behavior for anyone other than yourself because reality is ALSO something that is inherently altered by perspective.
There is no “should”, just as there is no “justice” or “mercy” or “correctness” or “rights” or, you know, any abstract concept invented, believed in, and subsequently created by humans. So stop telling me “should” unless you’re prefacing it with “if this is what you want, you…” Because then I end up giving myself a headache thinking about this stuff.
Keep seeing Homestuck posts from 4/13 and am all like “why are they talking about my birthday” and then I remember that Homestuck stole my birthday and I sigh.
The most disappointing thing about Oz the Great and Powerful was the glorification of Thomas Edison. I mean really, ew, fuck Edison.
